We decide many months before the journey to the USA began to include a road trip, so that Jojo would see more than just rural middle-of-nowhere Florida.
So, we chose to stop in the following cities, either for a few hours, or for a few days:
Savannah, Georgia (because I have a cousin there)
Atlanta, Georgia (because I have a cousin there)
Nashville, Tennessee (because I have a cousin there)
New Orleans, Louisiana (no cousin here, but I’ve never been there before and always wanted to)
